Arena Theatre has been producing extraordinary live experiences for young people for more than 55 years. Founded in Melbourne in 1966, Arena relocated to Bendigo in 2018, making our home as the resident company at The Engine Room, Bendigo. In 2019, our first show to premiere in Bendigo went on to win the countries highest award for theatre – the Helpmann Award for Best Presentation for Children and Families. Since 2018, we now premiere all our new work in Central Victoria before touring it nationally and internationally. All Arena’s productions are original creations by Central Victorian artists.
Our work tours to venues and festivals nationally and internationally, including Sydney Opera House, Arts Centre Melbourne, Darwin Festival and many international festivals.
